The Model 1040C: Advanced Telephone Central Office Simulation

Control the Telephone Line Simulation with Your Computer's Serial Port

The model 1040C provides all the central office simulation features of the Model 1040A plus a rear panel RS-232 serial port for dumb terminal or PC connection. Under PC control, for example, the 1040C can generate a series of DTMF (touch tone) digits with varying frequency and duration. This advanced telephone line simulation capability may be used to perform margin tests on DTMF receivers in various types of telephone equipment such as anwering machines or automated voice processing systems.
